    <title>Suzuki reveals SV-7GX at Eicma</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-reveals-sv-7gx-at-eicma</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has revealed a new SV-7GX, which was unveiled today at Eicma in Milan, Italy. The covers were also pulled off an updated GSX-S1000GX.

The SV-7GX uses an updated version of Suzukis proven and somewhat legendary 645cc V-twin engine, which is now fully-compliant with the latest Euro5+ emissions regulations. Peak power is 73PS and peak torque is 64Nm. Aiding efficiency and performance is a new magneto, transmission gears, airbox, a ride-by-wire throttle, and a new exhaust system.

As the GX suffix suggests, the SV-7GX will provide a middleweight sports crossover option in the Suzuki lineup, alongside the range-topping GSX-S1000GX.

A steel trellis frame is equipped with suspension from KYB, which provides a plush ride quality designed to make it easy to cover distance in comfort on the 7GX. The seat height remains accessible for a multitude of riders at 795mm. Wheels are new cast aluminium 17, front and rear, and are shod with Pirelli Angel GT 2 tyres. They work with the chassis to provide the sport element to the new sports crossover. Tokico calipers and twin 290mm discs provide the stopping power.

Tall, wide, tapered aluminium bars provide an upright and comfortable riding position, but place weight over the front tyre enough to generate feel and allow riders to enjoy the sporty side of the 7GX when away from the motorway or dual carriageways. Handguards come as standard.

On the electronics side, smartphone connectivity comes as standard and allows riders to access everything from maps to contacts and messages from intuitive switchgear on the left handlebar. All information is displayed via a colour TFT screen, which also indicates the selected throttle map, with three to choose from, as well as the chosen traction control setting, also with three to choose from, as well as off. Theres a USB-C charging port on the left hand side. The electronics package also includes a standard-fit bi-directional quickshifter for seamless up and down gear changes.

Wind-tunnel tested bodywork shields the rider from the worst of the elements and provides aerodynamic efficiency, with styling cues taken from the bigger GSX-S1000GX. Theres a 17.4-litre fuel tank. Lighting is full LED all round, with a new asaerial design at the front for improved illumination and visibility while cornering.

An accessories catalogue includes a 45-litre top box, soft panniers, tank bags, and heated grips.

Pricing for the SV-7GX will be announced in due course, with the arrival set for late summer, 2026.

        Suzuki has also announced updates to the GSX-S1000GX.

The ultimate sports crossover model which was revealed at Eicma only two years ago has received a round of subtle updates to further improve its performance as a motorcycle adept at both covering long distances in speed and comfort, as well as offering up sporting intentions when the rider wants to enjoy a more twisty, winding route.

A suite of changes includes the addition of new winglets to the GXs fairing, improving downforce and enhancing stability at high speeds. Modifications to the mirror mountings reduce vibrations for clearer rearward visibility.

The GSX-S1000GX puts out 152PS and 106Nm of torque from its 999cc inline four-cylinder engine. A twin-spar aluminium frame and GSX-R-derived swingarm is suspended by semi-active electronic suspension from Showa.

A colour TFT screen shows selected modes of a plethora of rider aids, including seven IMU-governed traction control settings, and the ability to disengage entirely. Those traction control settings are also linked to Suzukis roll torque control system and an anti-wheelie system. Lean-angle sensitive ABS, a bi-directional quickshifter, and cruise control also come as standard, along with smartphone connectivity.

In the UK the GSX-S1000GX will be available solely as a GX+ variant, which means it will come with free 36-litre panniers as standard.

It will arrive in early 2026 with an OTR price of 14,999.

Suzuki also confirmed that the e-Address, first revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi in January this year, will form part of its European model range in 2026, More information will be released in due course.

    <title>The GSX-R1000R will return to the UK</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/the-gsx-r1000r-will-return-to-the-uk</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has announced that the GSX-R1000R will return to the UK. Designed to perform, built to thrill, the GSX-R1000R gets an updated engine to meet Euro5+ regulations whilst maintaining high levels of performance output. Changes include a new crankshaft, crankcases, pistons, connecting rods, and a higher compression ratio. Theres also a new exhaust, an updated suite of electronics, and winglets that increase downforce at higher speeds.

Despite a number of changes made to satisfy the latest emissions standards, the updates to the engine also enhance the GSX-R1000Rs performance potential, making it capable of withstanding the tuning required to compete successfully in premier class endurance, superbike, and superstock racing competitions.

The announcement comes ahead of the prestigious Suzuka 8-Hour endurance racein Japan and the third round of the 2025 FIM Endurance World Championship, a championship that the GSX-R1000 has won 15 times since 2001.The announcement also comes as part of this years 40th anniversary celebrations of the GSX-R range, when the GSX-R750F changed the world of sportsbikes forever in 1985. As a result, the GSX-R1000R will come in a trio of colour schemes inspired by classic GSX-R liveries of the past, each adorned with a 40th anniversary logo on the fairing and fuel tank.

        Engine

The GSX-R1000Rs 1000cc, inline four-cylinder engine still uses Suzukis MotoGP-developed variable valve timing system. Developed on the firms GSX-RR prototype racer, which won the 2020 MotoGP world championship, the mechanical system is built into the intake cam sprocket and an adjacent guide plate. It uses 12 steel balls and slanted grooves to rotate the sprocket and retard the intake valve timing at a pre-set rpm, boosting high-rpm power without sacrificing midrange and lower-rpm output. It also retains a finger follower valve train, though the shape of the fingers on both the intake and exhaust sides were changed and optimised to match the new cam profile. In addition, the exhaust valve diameter was changed from 24mm to 25mm, plus there are new camshafts and a wider cam chain. Maximum valve lift remains the same, with reduced overlap to help meet emissions targets.

Theres a new fuel pump to increase fuel pressure, and changes to the fuel injectors, with the secondary top feed injector changing from 10 to eight holes to contribute to cleaner emissions. To help maintain power output, new throttle bodies boast a larger bore; up to 48mm from 46mm, while air delivered to the throttle bodies travels through newly designed single-stage funnels, further boosting peak power.
New, forged aluminium pistons have short skirts, cutaway sides and a short, DLC-coated wrist pin to reduce friction. The piston heads were reshaped to increase the compression ratio to 13.8:1 and accommodate the size of the increased exhaust valve diameter. The new pistons contribute to power output, reduced vibration, and durability.

The connecting rods are chrome-molybdenum steel with a carburised surface treatment to increase strength and are designed to enhance reliability when under higher levels of tune for racing.

The crankshaft adopts a new design with thicker journals, increased from 35mm to 37mm, designed to accommodate higher loads and withstand higher levels of tune in racing environments, plus new crankcases were designed in conjunction with the new crankshaft.

As well as being highly attractive and etched with a GSX-R logo, the new exhaust silencer body is more compact, reducing its capacity from 8.3 to 5.5 liters. A larger capacity elliptical catalytic converter in the collector is positioned closer to the engine to facilitate quicker warming, which helps improve its performance.

Peak power is 195PS at 13,200rpm, with peak torque 110.0Nm at 11,000rpm.
The new GSX-R1000R uses the samelightweight twin-spar aluminium frame, subframe, and braced aluminium swingarm as the previous version. Suspension comes courtesy of Showa, with its balance free front forks at the front, and a balance free rear shock at the rear, and theres an electronically-controlled steering damper.

At the front, brakes are Brembo monoblock calipers, biting 320mm discs. At the rear sits a single caliper and 220m disc. Theres also a new ABS unit that saves 51 grams over the previous version GSX-R1000R. Lightweight cast aluminium wheels wear Bridgestone BATTLAX RACING STREET RS11 tyres: 120/70ZR17M/ at the front, 190/55ZR17M/C at the rear.

        Developed in conjunction with the Suzuki CN Challenge race team, which contested the 2024 Suzuka 8-Hour with an experimental GSX-R1000R, new winglets provide increased downforce at higher speeds, aiding stability and reducing wheelie.

Produced in Japan, they are made of dry carbon with a hollow structure, and the size and shape of the winglets were developed through a long process of experimental builds and thorough test runs to achieve the optimum effect without making handling feel heavy.
Electronics

An updated suite of electronics further enhances the GSX-R1000Rs performance potential and allows riders to tailor its character to suit their preferences or riding conditions. Armed with a six direction IMU, the GSX-R1000R gets an updated traction control system that incorporates Suzukis new Roll Torque Control and anti-wheelie, with 10 modes to choose from plus the ability to disengage entirely.

Suzukis Roll Torque Control uses data from the IMU and wheel speed sensors to calculate the bikes lean angle and speed to predetermine what level of power output is optimal. It works in conjunction with the traction control to deliver a sense of stability through the corner. Its benefit is that it works to prevent wheel spin, rather than activate when slip is detected, making for more seamless acceleration and the reduced cutting of power and pumping.
Theres a ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, lean angle-sensitive ABS and slope-dependent control, launch control, low RPM assist, and Suzukis easy start function.

A new Li-ion HY battEliiy P-series starter battery is more compact and lightweight, and is designed with a focus on exceptional reliability, durability, enhanced startability, and an extended lifespan.

Headlights, positioning lights, and taillights are full LED.
Styling

Three new colour schemes pay homage to classic GSX-R liveries of old, with a classic blue and white take joined by a red and white version and a yellow and matt blue option. Each features a 40th anniversary decal on the fairing and the fuel tank. A retro R logo adorns the bellypan of all three. There are also GSX-R logos on the seat and exhaust silencer, and the magneto and clutch covers are finished in grey.

Pricing and availability

The GSX-R1000R will arrive at Bike Treadsin the spring of 2026, with pricing to be announced in due course. It will be on display at MCL at the NEC in November.

    <title>New Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/new-suzuki-gsx-8t-and-gsx-8tt</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has launched two brand-new models on its award-winning 800cc platform, with the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT combining retro spirit with next generation performance. The 8T takes styling cues from classic bikes of the 1960s and 1970s, such as the iconic Suzuki T500, while the 8TT builds on that platform further but with inspiration coming from the faired race bikes of the period, such as the legendary Yoshimura GS1000 AMA superbike.

Both models use Suzukis 776cc parallel twin engine with its 270 crankshaft design, which gives it unrivalled drive and lowdown power, while double overhead cams and four valves per cylinder enable a free-revving nature.

The engine is housed in a twin-spar steel frame with a separate lightweight subframe. An electronics suite comprises traction control, power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, and colour TFT screen.

Both the 8T and 8TT get a new fuel tank, seat, seat unit, and handlebars complete with bar-end mirrors.

The 8T adopts a new round headlight with full LED lighting, blending modern technology with classic styling. The 8TT adds a headlight cowling that shares more than a passing resemblance to vintage road race machinery from the 70s and 80s.

Design
The 8T and 8TTs design brief was to produce two machines that embody the retro spirit of Suzukis heritage and iconic models of past decades. Drawn by designers in Italy and further sculpted in Japan, both models use a new 16.5-litre fuel tank, which connects each side to new radiator shrouds brushed silver on the 8T and black on the 8TT adorned with the circular GSX8 logo.

The 8T evokes the charm of classic bikes, and a new circular headlight design with a flat bottom section is further reminiscent of motorcycles of the 70s and 80s, though it is full-LED with a bright, horizontal LED strip across the middle.

Inspired by classic road race machines, the 8TT retains the same headlight unit as its 8T stablemate but wraps it in a cowling that bears a striking resemblance to the GS1000S of the late 1970s. It is fitted with a screen that further completes the look, as well as providing the functional benefit of added weather protection.

New circular bar-end mirrors ensure a sleek and low profile. Their design was refined to ensure visual harmony with the overall silhouette, and special attention was paid to detail, including hand-polishing the parting lines and gate marks of the aluminium die-cast stays. The mirrors offer excellent rearward visibility by minimising interference from the riders body.

Underneath the 776cc parallel twin engine, the 8TT also adopts a lower cowling, further enhancing its racier aesthetic.

A new seat, inspired by the tuck-and-roll seats of the 1960s and 70s slots onto the top of the subframe of the 8T. It features high-density foam cushioning for enhanced comfort and a premium riding experience. Additionally, the shape of the seat front improves ease of mounting and dismounting and provides excellent foot reach.

On the 8TT the seat still ensures a comfortable ride but is finished with a flatter top more reminiscent of race bike seats.

With a matt finish to its black seat unit, brushed radiator shrouds, gold forks, and black wheels, the GSX-8T will be available with a Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Matt Steel Green, or Metallic Matt Black fuel tank.

The 8TT adds more pops of colour and retro racing flair thanks to striped decals on its tank and cowling, with matching wheels. A Glass Sparkle Black variant is offset by red wheels and red and gold decals, while a Pearl MattShadow Green version is completed with gold wheels and gold and bronze stripes.

        Engine
While retro spirit comes from the styling of the 8T and 8TT, next generation performance is delivered by Suzukis award-winning 776cc parallel twin engine; widely praised for its drive from the bottom end and through its midrange, making it a useable, flexible, and fun powerplant. This character and punchy performance is enhanced by a 270 crankshaft design, helping fire the 8T and 8TT from corner to corner. Peak torque is 78Nm at 6800rpm, and peak power comes in at 82.9PS at 8500rpm.

A cross balancer reduces vibrations and aids in the motors compact design, and a short exhaust muffler keeps the bikes side profile clean and compact while still providing an exciting exhaust note.

Chassis
Both models use the same steel frame and subframe, and aluminium swingarm. They are suspended by upside down KYB forks gold on the 8T and black on the 8TT and a KYB rear shock. Wide, tapered aluminium handlebars provide an engaging and comfortable riding position, offering plenty of leverage for steering input. Stopping power comes via twin 310mm discs up front with radially-mounted Nissin calipers, and a 240mm disc at the rear.

Electronics
Sat atop the retro headlight is a fully-modern colour TFT screen, displaying all the information the rider needs, including rev counter, speedo, and gear position indicator, as well as the selected traction control setting with three available to choose from, plus off and the chosen power mode from A, B, or C. Making for slick gear changes is a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, plus Suzukis easy-start and low RPM assist systems.

Both models also come with a USB Type-C socket as standard, which also supports fast charging.

Developed by Eliiy Power using advanced energy storage technology, a new, compact, lightweight battery offers reliability, durability, enhanced startability, and long life with minimal self-discharge.

Pricing and availability
The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT will come with an OTR price of 9,599 and 9,999 respectively and will be arriving at Bike Treadsin the coming weeks. Both come with Suzukis standard three-year warranty plus up to seven-years extended warranty, activated by regular servicing at an authorised Suzuki dealership.

    <title>Prices released for Suzuki DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/prices-released-for-suzuki-dr-z4s-and-dr-z4sm</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki GB has announced pricing for the new DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM models, which were revealed at Eicma last year. Both the dual-purpose trail bike, the DR-Z4S, and its supermoto stablemate, the DR-Z4SM, will come with an OTR price of 7,999.

Both bikes use a new 398cc single-cylinder engine and a new twin-spar steel frame with a separate, bolt-on aluminium subframe and aluminium swingarm. The DR-Z4S sports 21 and 18 spoked wheels and long-travel suspension from KYB, with 280mm of fork travel, 296mm of rear wheel travel, and 300mm of ground clearance. The SM is equipped with 17 wheels and has 260mm of front suspension travel and 277mm rear wheel travel.

An electronics package comprises three power modes and two standard traction control modes, a tailored off-road traction control setting, plus the ability to disengage the system entirely. Theres also the ability to disengage the ABS at the rear or at both ends on the 4S, for more control off-road, and at the rear of the 4SM.

Both models channel RM-Z-inspired styling, with the DR-Z4S available in Suzukis trademark off-road yellow as well as dark grey, while the 4SM comes in white and a new blue/grey livery, dubbed Sky Grey.

When the bikes arrive in dealerships at the end of the summer buyers will benefit from Suzukis standard three-year warranty and can enjoy the extended seven-year service activated warranty if they have their DR-Z serviced at an authorised Suzuki dealership.

Suzuki GBs head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, These may be spiritual successors to the DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM, and they take everything that made those bikes so popular such as their robustness and reliability but they build on that foundation and reputation with a brand-new chassis and a new version of our 400cc single cylinder engine.

Delivering superior levels of performance in their respective categories was our aim; for instance, ensuring the DR-Z4S is equipped with a suspension package that can take on the roughest of trails and will perform for an experienced rider off-road, while also remaining friendly for a newer rider. Engine capacity remains the same as the previous DR-Z models, but cumulative torque is improved, which in turn gives a linear throttle response and predictable power delivery, important for negotiating tougher trails or picking up the throttle out of corners on the track.

Were looking forward to seeing them in dealerships and are sure buyers or those taking a test ride will feel the high quality, impressive performance, but also our commitment to providing value.

Both models come with Suzukis standard three-year manufacturer warranty and are eligible for Suzukis extended seven-year warranty through regular servicing.

    <title>Why the GSX-8R KIIRO Is a Must-Have in 2025</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/why-the-gsx-8r-kiiro-is-a-must-have-in-2025</link>
    <description>
        Looking for something truly special to add to your garage? Suzukis GSX-8R KIIRO Limited Edition isnt just another sporty middleweight, its one of only 60 made worldwide. This rare gem blends everything that makes the GSX-8R such a hit with riders, topped off with factory exclusivity that makes it a collectors dream.

From the custom graphics to the individually numbered tank badge, the KIIRO isnt just about performance, its about making a bold statement every time you roll out of the garage.

        One of 60: Meet the Ultra-Rare Suzuki GSX-8R KIIRO
Suzuki didnt hold back on the KIIROs looks. With its Pearl Ignite Yellow paint and aggressive grey-and-black accents across the trellis frame and wheels, this bike demands attention. Whether its parked up or tearing through the bends, it has presence in spades.

What sets the KIIRO apart visually is the limited-edition detailing - each model features its own numbered fuel tank badge and a sleek KIIRO graphic set, with a seat cowl to match. The result? A road-going machine with proper track-ready styling, made to stand out from every other bike on the road.

        Serious Kit Where It Counts
The KIIRO doesnt just look sharp, its packing the same responsive 776cc parallel twin motor as the standard GSX-8R. Built for flexibility and usable torque, this engine delivers whether youre darting through town or leaning into long weekend rides.

Youll find adjustable Showa suspension both front and rear, designed to give you full control over handling. The low clip-on handlebars and sculpted fairings provide a sporty riding position without punishing your back on longer trips. And with standard features like a bi-directional quickshifter and full-colour TFT dash, everything about the ride feels slick and connected.

        KIIRO GSX-8R VS Standard GSX-8R

While the performance spec is shared with the standard GSX-8R, its the KIIROs bold personality and ultra-low production numbers that give it extra clout. Its built for riders who want their machine to stand out before the engine even starts.

If you like to ride something that feels a cut above the rest-visually and emotionally-the KIIRO delivers exactly that. Its rare, its striking, and its got just the right edge.

        The GSX-8R - Sportsbike of the Year 2024

Chances are the KIIRO will be snapped up before most riders get a look in, the good news is that the standard Suzuki GSX-8R offers the same grin-inducing ride and sharp design thats earned it so much love.

Whether you&#039;re weaving through city streets or clocking up the miles on open roads, the GSX-8R offers that sweet spot of comfort and capability. Its no surprise it walked away with MCNs Sportsbike of the Year in 2024,its just that good.

The bike features enhanced suspension components, including a telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers in the rear, providing improved comfort and handling. A new, slightly larger fuel tank increases the range, while updated lighting and instrumentation bring it into the modern era without sacrificing its vintage appeal. Why Royal Enfield Stands Out

Timeless Style and Modern Engineering

From the rugged Interceptor 650 to the stylish Classic 350, Royal Enfield motorcycles embody a perfect fusion of vintage charm and contemporary engineering. Their distinct, retro-modern philosophy resonates with enthusiasts who seek bikes that make a statement on the road.

The use of air/oil-cooled engines, renowned for their simplicity and reliability, reflects Royal Enfields commitment to durability. The bikes are engineered with intuitive handling, making them incredibly approachable without sacrificing performance. The chassis on models like the Meteor 350 and the Classic 350 has been refined to offer improved stability, while still retaining the easy, accessible handling that defines the Royal Enfield experience.

The minimalist designs, characterised by the unmistakable round headlamps, tank badges, and steel fenders, speak to a bygone era, but underneath the aesthetics, these bikes are equipped with modern technology like digital-analog dials and improved braking systems. Its this blend of old-school craftsmanship and modern-day functionality that positions Royal Enfield as a leader in the retro-bike market.

        Suitable for All Riding Levels

Royal Enfield has built a reputation for creating motorcycles that cater to a broad spectrum of riders, from newcomers to seasoned veterans. Their lineup includes bikes like the Shotgun 650, which delivers 47 bhp, ideal for riders seeking a more accessible and versatile ride. The Shotgun 650s low seat height and manageable geometry make it perfect for shorter riders or those just starting their motorcycling journey.

This model features improved ergonomics, ensuring comfort and confidence, especially for those new to two wheels. Whether its the effortless control of the Meteor 350 for beginner riders or the larger 650cc models for those looking to expand their riding experience, Royal Enfields diverse range ensures theres a bike for everyone. Their straightforward, no-nonsense design ethos makes learning to ride simple, while also offering plenty of room for growth as riders gain more experience. The brands accessibility is further demonstrated in their approachable pricing, making Royal Enfield an ideal choice for new riders and those re-entering the motorcycle world.

        Motorcycle News has crowned the Suzuki GSX-8R as its Sportsbike of the Year. The 8R collects the award a year after its naked stablemate, the GSX-8S, won the award for Best Naked.

The award makes it two awards in two years for Suzukis 776cc parallel twin engine platform, which has won favour with press and customers alike thanks to its punchy power delivery and flexibility.

The GSX-8R was heralded as a sublime bit of kit by the world famous motorcycling newspaper, and praised for being cracking fun to ride and for being living proof that sportsbikes can be fun, comfortable and capable, without breaking the bank, as it blends sportiness with everyday usability.

Jak Tyrrell, Suzuki GBs senior motorcycle marketing manager, said after collecting the award, Its obviously really pleasing to see the 8R recognised as the great bike it is, but, for us, its also great to see that our latest engine platform is clearly a leading light in the middleweight category, with two MCN awards in two years. The GSX-8R really captured imaginations when it was revealed, and has clearly delivered on its promise to be a sportsbike accessible for all riders.

The GSX-8R houses its 776cc engine inside a brand new chassis, with suspension from Showa, including the firms SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork Big Piston) at the front. Radially-mounted Nissin four-piston calipers provide the stopping power.

An electronics package features a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, three power modes, and three traction control settings, with all information displayed via a colour TFT screen.

    <title>Suzuki GB confirms recall campaign for rear tyre defect on V-Strom 800DE</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-gb-confirms-recall-campaign-for-rear-tyre-defect-on-v-strom-800de</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki GB has confirmed a recall campaign on its V-Strom 800DE, due to a defect with the OE fitment rear tyre. There are 304 affected machines registered in the UK.

Customer safety and satisfaction is Suzuki GBs utmost priority, and owners of affected units will be contacted from today [Friday 26 July] and directed to cease riding activity until replacement tyres have been fitted by an authorised Suzuki dealership.

Owners of affected models still equipped with the OE tyres will be able to have their motorcycle collected by their local Suzuki dealership, which will then fit a pair of replacement tyres and return the motorcycle to the customer, allowing them to continue using their machine.

In instances where owners have already replaced their OE tyres they will be advised to contact Suzuki GB customer services. Suzuki GB will reimburse them for their outlay on tyres and fitting.

Due to the defective rear tyre Suzuki GB is temporarily unable to register any new V-Strom 800DE models. To maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and to reduce the impact on customers, those that have already placed an order for a new machine will be offered a courtesy bike in the interim period, until the recall work has been completed.

In all instances, all appropriate costs will be borne by Suzuki GB.

The V-Strom 1050DE is unaffected.

The GSX-8R is sublime the test reads, with the 8R praised for its blend of genuine sporting prowess, as well as comfort and usability.

Awarded five stars, it saw off competition from Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph, and Aprilia.

In the verdict, the 8R was lauded for being so easy to ride fast and for being comfortable to ride slow. According to testers, it hits the sweet spot across all bases.

In summary, the 8R is the complete package, one that encompasses comfort, performance, handling, electronics and of course the price.

On a monthly PCP deal it is also the most affordable of the bunch, thanks to Suzukis current 4.9% APR representative finance offer.

An electronics package comprises a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, plus multiple power and traction control modes, all controlled by intuitive switchgear and a colour TFT screen.

    <title>Suzuki set to celebrate a quarter of a century of legends at Suzuki Live</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-set-to-celebrate-a-quarter-of-a-century-of-legends-at-suzuki-live</link>
    <description>
        2024 marks the 25th anniversary of both the legendary Hayabusa and the cult classic SV650. Both launched in 1999 to do very different jobs, their birthdays will be celebrated at Suzuki Live, which takes place at Cadwell Park on 22-23 June.

Suzuki is inviting owners to bring their bikes along to the event, with dedicated parking and display areas in the paddock reserved for Busas and SVs.

The show-and-shine style display areas will be sponsored by Dunlop, with a free pair of tyres up for grabs for the owners of the best examples on display.

The Hayabusa and SV650 feature areas will form part of a wide range of paddock displays at the event. Suzuki will showcase its current lineup and models from its vintage fleet, there will be a number of Team Classic Suzuki race bikes on display, plus stands from the likes of the Air-Cooled Suzuki Club, the Kettle Club, and the Suzuki Owners Club. Dunlop will have staff on hand to talk tyres and tyre pressures for those riding on circuit, and Furygan will display its latest safety kit.

When the track action stops the evening show begins, with live music from The High Rollers, talk shows featuring VIPs such as John Reynolds, Steve Parrish, and Danny Webb, as well as tech talks from Dunlop and Furygan. Food and drink will be available from a variety of on-site vendors.

Over the two days there will be track sessions for Suzukis old and new, with sessions scheduled for everything from classic RGs and RGVs to modern GSX-Rs and GSX-Ss. There will also be a host of bikes available to test ride on the surrounding Lincolnshire roads, including the new GSX-S1000GX, the GSX-8R, and the V-Strom 800RE, as well as the third generation Hayabusa. Those interested in the latest V-Strom 800DE and V-Strom 1050DE can enjoy off-road test rides in the SR75 Suzuki V-Strom Experience Zone.

Suzuki GB marketing manager Jak Tyrrell commented, Were a little over a month away from Suzuki Live and its set to be the biggest one yet. While there will be plenty of track sessions for those taking part, theres going to be even more to see and do away from the circuit action, starting with the two anniversary display areas.

25 years is a huge milestone for two motorcycling stalwarts: the SV has provided fun, affordable motorcycling for the masses since 1999, has been the first big bike of so many riders, and still fills racing grids at club level. And, still, a quarter of a century later, nothing comes close to a Hayabusa. Its very easy to overuse words like icon or legend, but that is what the Hayabusa is.

Suzuki Live takes place on 22-23 June at Cadwell Park. Weekend tickets cost 15 and include access to the whole paddock area, plus free camping.

    <title>V-Strom 800RE Tour Joins Suzuki Line-Up</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/v-strom-800re-tour-joins-suzuki-line-up</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has added a V-Strom 800RE Tour to its lineup, which comes with 112 litres of aluminium luggage and a saving of 706.94.

Buyers can choose from either silver or black three-piece luggage, comprising a top box and panniers, and with an OTR price of 11,199, customers will save 706.94 over equipping the standard V-Strom 800RE with the individual accessories.

Available in blue, matt steel green, or black, the V-Strom 800RE Tour expands Suzukis V-Strom 800 range to four models, all of which use the firms new 776cc parallel twin engine with its 270-degree crankshaft design, delivering an abundance of smooth low-down drive and midrange thrust.

The 800RE models come with 19 and 17 cast aluminium wheels and Nissin radial calipers. Aluminium, rubber-covered footpegs are set 14mm further rearward and 7mm higher than the V-Strom 800DE, and aluminium tapered handlebars are 13mm lower and 23mm further forwards. Theyre also 15mm narrower. A taller and wider screen offers more weather and wind protection on longer rides. Like the DE, suspension comes courtesy of Showa, but with a focus on superior on-road performance there is 150mm of travel front and rear.

A bi-directional quickshifter comes as standard, and there are three selectable power modes and three choices of traction control settings, which can also be switched off. <title>Suzuki Open House Weekend Set For 15th &amp; 16th of March</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-open-house-weekend-set-for-15th-and-16th-of-march</link>
    <description>
        Bike Treads will be takingpart in a Suzuki Spring Open House weekend on 15th and16th March, with new Suzuki models available to test ride including the GSX-S1000GX, GSX-8R, and V-Strom 800RE.

The GX, powered by Suzukis proven 999cc inline four-cylinder, superbike-derived engine, gets a suite of electronics topped by Showa semi-active suspension. Theres also a lean angle-sensitive innovative roll torque control, traction control, ABS, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and selectable power modes. A 6.5 colour TFT dash provides all the information and boasts smartphone connectivity.

The recently launched GSX-8R which shares the same torque-laden 776cc parallel twin engine with its 270 degree crank as the award-winning GSX-8S, plus its electronics package will also be sought after. Cocooned in a full fairing, those taking a test ride will notice the sportier riding position over its roadster sibling, and the firmer suspension setup afforded by the Showa SFF-BP forks and rear shock.

Enhancing the V-Strom range for 2024 is the road-focussed V-Strom 800RE, providing an alternative to the off-road-ready 800DE.     <title>Suzuki announces GSX-S1000GX+</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-announces-gsx-s1000gx</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has announced a GSX-S1000GX+, a pannier-equipped version of its new-for-2024 GSX-S1000GX which comes with an OTR price of 15,599, just 1,100 over the GSX-S1000GX.

For customers looking for the added carrying capacity the GX+ offers, it represents a saving of 175 over the individual cost of the panniers and fitting. Moreover, including the genuine accessory panniers as part of the standard specification and price means even better value for customers buying on finance, too.

Two colour-coded, 36-litre panniers provide plenty of storage space, with each pannier capable of accepting a full-face helmet.

The panniers represent additional practicality for a machine built with all-day distance and riding comfort in mind. Topping the spec sheet is semi-active suspension from Showa, which has an automatic rear preload setting or three selectable options for solo riding, a rider and pillion, or rider and luggage. Riders can also select from soft, medium, and hard damping settings.

Cruise control features alongside seven traction control settings, encompassed within which is a roll torque control that uses a six-axis IMU to govern available power output when the bike is at lean. The IMU from Bosch also enables cornering ABS. There are three selectable power modes, and a bi-directional quickshifter.

All the information for which is displayed on a 6.5 colour TFT screen, with smartphone connectivity via the free Suzuki mySPIN app.

152PS and 106Nm of torque are provided by Suzukis revered, superbike-derived, 999cc inline four-cylinder engine, which is housed in a twin-spar aluminium frame.

    <title>New Suzuki GSX-8R pricing announced</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/new-suzuki-gsx-8r-pricing-announced</link>
    <description>
        Fresh from its reveal at Eicma in Milan, Italy, earlier this month, Suzuki has announced UK pricing of the new GSX-8R: the new middleweight sportsbike will come with an OTR price of 8,899 when it arrives in dealerships in February.

The GSX-8R uses Suzukis new 776cc parallel twin engine, with its 270 crankshaft providing a V-twin-esque feel and soundtrack. Thanks to its long stroke design it produces an abundance of torque throughout the rev range, peaking at 78 Nm at 6800rpm. Peak power is 82.9PS at 8,500rpm.

While the main chassis is shared with the GSX-8S, suspension comes from Showa, and there are lower handlebars to provide a sportier riding position, with riders tucked behind the new, GSX-R-inspired full fairing.

As standard there is a bi-directional quickshifter, three power modes and three selectable traction control modes, with all information displayed via a 5 colour TFT screen.

    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/get-a-warm-feeling-this-winter-with-complimentary-heated-grips-from-suzuki</link>
    <description>
        Get a warm feeling from Suzuki this winter, with complimentary heated grips available on a number of models including the newly-announced GSX-S1000GX which begins arriving in dealerships in December.

The offer covers purchase and fitment of the heated grips, and is available on the GSX-S1000GT and GT+, GSX-S1000, GSX-S950, Katana, and the new GSX-S1000GX. It also extends to both the V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050DE, the new V-Strom 800RE and V-Strom 800DE, and all luggage-equipped Tour iterations of the V-Strom range. The Hayabusa and the award-winning GSX-8S are also included.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, While everyone loves dry roads and warm asphalt, riding through winter can be equally rewarding, or, for some, necessary. We want to make it better for those riders by making it easier for them to keep their hands toasty in the colder weather.

Suzukis genuine heated grips provide 360 heat with three available heat settings to choose from.

Theyre available for free on all qualifying models registered by 31 January, 2024.

    <title>New Suzuki GSX-S1000GX and GSX-8R revealed at EICMA</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/new-suzuki-gsx-s1000gx-and-gsx-8r-revealed-at-eicma</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has pulled the covers off two more new models for 2024, with the reveal of a new GSX-S1000GX crossover and GSX-8R middleweight sportsbike today at Eicma, in Milan, Italy.

With the GSX-S1000GX Suzuki steps into a new segment for the first time, offering a new sports crossover machine with a comprehensive suite of electronics.

Electronic suspension from Showa tops a spec sheet that also includes IMU-governed ABS and other braking systems, anti-wheelie, a new Roll Torque Control system, traction control, cruise control, selectable power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter and smartphone connectivity, accessed via a 6.5 colour TFT screen.

A 999cc inline four-cylinder delivers an abundance of power and torque throughout the rev range, peaking at 152PS and 106 Nm.

With an OTR price of 14,499, first customers can have their bikes by Christmas.

        Also revealed, the new GSX-8R is the fourth new model to be launched on Suzukis new 776cc parallel twin platform, which features a DOHC and 270 crankshaft design and delivers punchy drive throughout the rev range.

New Showa suspension provides more support and increased damping force over the GSX-8S to account for the increased from weight bias and delivers a controlled, sporty ride.

Lower handlebars also contribute to a sportier riding position, with more of the riders weight over the front end.

The package is wrapped in new, angular, GSX-R-inspired bodywork.

There are selectable power modes, traction control, and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, with all information displayed on a 5 colour TFT dash.

        GSX-S1000GX

With a design and product concept of the ultimate sports crossover, the GSX-S1000GX is set to become the benchmark in the category, as Suzuki moves into the crossover sector of the market for the first time.

It boasts Suzukis most sophisticated electronics package to date, with a number of new and innovative systems enabled by a six-axis Bosch IMU and electronic suspension from Showa.

The GSX-S1000GX is the first Suzuki to adopt Suzuki Advanced Electronic Suspension (SAES). The GX gets 150mm front and rear suspension travel to create an upright riding position, broadening the riders field of view and providing all-day riding comfort. The longer suspension travel also helps the GX smooth out bumps when riding over uneven surfaces.

There are four selectable modes of SAES: hard, medium, soft, and a customisable user setting which offers +/- three increments on the selected base setting of hard, medium, or soft.

Further helping smooth out those bumps and undulations is Suzuki Road Adaptive Stabilisation (SRAS). An original Suzuki system, in use for the first time on the new GX, it detects uneven road surfaces based on input from the IMU and wheel speed sensors, and, if required, triggers the Suzuki Floating Ride Control (SFRC) to help smooth out the ride. As part of the SFRC it also adjusts the electronic throttle valve settings to deliver softer, more controllable throttle response.

The rear suspensions spring preload settings are also electronically controlled, making it easy for a rider to use a handlebar switch to quickly choose between auto or one of the four available modes they find best suited to their immediate needs or preferences.

Riders can select between single rider, single rider plus luggage, or tandem (with or without luggage). In addition, the preload setting for auto mode can be adjusted by +/- three increments and the three manual modes can be adjusted by +/- four increments to match the riders needs more finely.

The GSX-S1000GX also uses an alpha version of the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector. SDMS- provides three riding modes: active, basic, comfort. Those three integrated riding modes control power output characteristics, as well as the level of traction control, which, on the GX, is integrated with Lift Limiter (anti-wheelie) and Roll Torque Control, and electronic suspension settings. Riders can opt to use the default settings of many of those systems or customise them to match their needs or preferences more closely. There are seven selectable modes of traction control integrated with Roll Torque Control and Lift Limiter and three selectable throttle maps.

Making its debut on the GX is Suzukis new Roll Torque Control. Based on data received from the IMU and wheel speed sensors, this new system calculates the bikes lean angle and speed to predetermine what level of power output and acceleration is optimal at that time, for example, when exciting a corner. It then reduces torque output before the motorcycle exceeds the amount of power the system deems necessary to clear the corner effectively. One key benefit of this system is a smooth operation and uninterrupted drive. With regular traction control the system is reactive, cutting in when rear wheel slip is detected. This can create a jerkiness or on and off feeling as the power comes in and out. It can also cause the rear suspension to compress and rebound. This is reduced significantly with the introduction of Roll Torque Control, as the torque ceiling is set, and then raised as the bike exits the corner and as speed increases and lean angle decreases. It is an extra layer of pre-emptive protection that operates silently in the background, with its settings determined by the level of traction control selected.

Completing the GXs comprehensive suite of electronics is a ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control updated on the GX to allow the system to continue operating when the rider changes gear lean angle-sensitive ABS, Slope Dependent Control, which prevents rear wheel lift when braking downhill, easy start, and low RPM assist.

Monitoring all of the GSX-S1000GXs electronic systems is done via a 6.5-inch colour TFT screen, which also offers smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access maps, view contacts and make and receive phone calls, see their calendar, and play music. All this is done via the free Suzuki mySPIN app. A USB socket in the side of the instrument cluster makes for easy phone charging.

Powering the new GSX-S1000GX is Suzukis creamy smooth, 999cc, inline four-cylinder, superbike-derived engine. Known for its abundance of lowdown and midrange power, it produces 152PS at 11,000rpm and 106 Nm of torque at 9,250rpm.

That engine is housed in a twin spar, aluminium frame mated to a race-proven aluminium swingarm from the GSX-R range and a lightweight subframe.

All of that is wrapped in new, aggressive bodywork, with full LED lighting front and rear. Hand guards and a spacious luggage rack add extra practicality. Luggage capacity can be increased with genuine accessory 36-litre panniers.

With an OTR price of 14,499, the GSX-S1000GX is available to order now, with first customers able to take delivery in time for Christmas. It will come in Suzukis trademark Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and a new Pearl Matt Shadow Green

        GSX-8R

Immediately highlighting the R element of the new GSX-8R is its full fairing, wind tunnel-tested to increase aerodynamic performance and provide weather protection for the rider. Bold 8R logos adorn the side panels, while fairing-mounted mirrors also aid in reducing drag.

Perched in the middle of the angular face is the recognisably GSX series stacked LED headlight, topped by an LED position light. The rear combination light is also full LED, as are the indicators.

At the heart of the new GSX-8R is the 776cc parallel twin engine which it shares with the GSX-8S with its long stroke and 270 crankshaft design providing an abundance of low-down torque, usability, and flexibility, while a free-revving nature comes from a DOHC and four valves per cylinder. Peak torque is 78 Nm, delivered at 6800rpm, with peak power of 82.9PS coming at 8500rpm.

The 270 crankshaft also provides a power delivery, character, and rumble reminiscent of Suzukis much-lauded V-twin ranges, while a patented cross balancer design ensures a smoothness, as well as aiding in a compact, lightweight engine design.

A two-into-one exhaust system with dual-stage catalytic converter keeps the 8R conforming to Euro 5 emissions standards, and ends in a short, underslung silencer further enhancing the compact, slimline look.

All of that is housed in a steel frame engineered for direct handling characteristics. Those handling characteristics are further enhanced by low, forged aluminium handlebars that provide positive control and a sporty riding position, placing more of the riders weight over the front wheel. Bolted into the rear of the steel frame is a lightweight aluminium subframe and lightweight aluminium swingarm,

Dealing with the increased weight bias towards the front, Showa provides the suspension, with SFF-BP* (Separate Function Fork Big Piston) inverted forks and monoshock in the rear. Mounted radially to the forks are Nissin four-piston calipers, providing stopping power by biting 310mm discs. Tyres are Dunlop Roadsport 2s.

Aiding rideability, usability, and flexibility is a suite of electronic systems that includes a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, three selectable engine power modes, and three selectable traction control settings, plus the ability to disengage the system entirely. Theres also Suzukis low RPM assist and easy-start function.

The GSX-8Rs settings are easy to navigate via a single rocker switch on the left-hand handlebar, with the information displayed clearly on a colour 5 TFT screen.

Three colour options will be available when the GSX-8R arrives in dealerships in early February 2024: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matt Sword Silver and Metallic Matt Black No.2.

    <title>Pricing and availability of 25th anniversary Hayabusa announced</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/pricing-and-availability-of-25th-anniversary-hayabusa-announced</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has announced that the special edition Hayabusa, launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary hyperbike, is available in dealerships now with an OTR price of 18,599, and will also be available on 2.9% APR finance on PCP or HP.

The anniversary edition, launched to celebrate a quarter of a century of an icon after the first generation Hayabusa changed the game in 1999, comes in a head-turning glass blaze orange and glass sparkle black, and with a list of standout features including: special anniversary logo on the fuel tank and laser-etched into the twin exhaust mufflers, gold-anodised brake disc carriers and drive chain adjusters, raised Suzuki lettering on the fuel tank, a standard-fit single seat cowl in addition to the pillion pad, and new gloss black trim.

Underneath, it packs the same torque-rich, 1340cc inline four-cylinder engine as the current third generation Hayabusa, which produces more cumulative power and torque than any of its predecessors. Thanks to a heavily redesigned engine for 2021 with new pistons, conrods, crankshaft and camshaft the latest iteration of the Hayabusa is the fastest-launching one yet.

Helping that cause is a comprehensive suite of electronics that features three launch control settings, 10 traction control modes, and three power modes, plus lean-angle sensitive ABS, three levels of engine brake settings, cruise control, hill hold, low RPM assist, and easy-start.

Launched in 1999 the original Hayabusa stunned the motorcycling world and gave birth to the hypersport category. Taking its name from the Japanese for Peregrine falcon famed for feasting on blackbirds it delivered unrivalled performance, was immediately recognisable thanks to its now-iconic silhouette, and went on to develop cult status.

The launch of the second generation Hayabusa in 2008 boosted capacity and power, while a mid-term update in 2013 added Brembo monobloc calipers and ABS. The third generation was launched in 2021, after 200,000 units had been sold worldwide.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, There arent many if any motorcycles that can boast the same sort of history, legacy, and standing that the Hayabusa does. Its not hyperbole to call it an icon, or game-changing, or legendary; it is all of those things. It really is in a class of one, and moving into its 25th year, customers can own a piece of history with this special edition, and to make it even easier to do so were pleased to be able to launch it with a low finance rate of 2.9% on PCP or HP.

    <title>New V-Strom 800RE joins V-Strom 800DE to enhance Suzuki’s adventure bike lineup</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/new-v-strom-800re-joins-v-strom-800de-to-enhance-suzukis-adventure-bike-lineup</link>
    <description>
        Following the launch of its all-new V-Strom 800DE earlier this year, Suzuki has announced a new V-Strom 800RE that will further expand its adventure bike stable, ensuring the V-Strom range is truly ready for any terrain, any horizon, any adventure.

Born to roam, the V-Strom 800RE will provide a more road-focussed offering than its more off-road-ready sibling. With DE denoting the V-Strom 800DEs positioning as a dual explorer, the adoption of RE for the latest V-Strom 800 model highlights its abilities as the road explorer.

Arriving in November, the new V-Strom 800RE will come with an OTR price of 9,699.

At its heart, the new V-Strom 800RE uses the same new 776cc parallel twin engine as its stablemate, with its double overhead cam and 270 crankshaft design delivering a broad spread of torque throughout the rev range peaking at 78Nm at 6800rpm and a rumble and character more akin to Suzukis famed V-twins. Peak power is 84.3PS at 8500rpm.

It also uses the same steel main frame, engineered for a balance of straight-line stability and agile handling. The narrow steel tubes also help maximise fuel tank capacity, which comes in at 20 litres. However, the new V-Strom 800RE differs from its more rugged counterpart most notably by swapping 21 and 17 spoked wheels and tubed tyres for 19 and 17 cast aluminium wheels, wearing Dunlop tubeless tyres.

Like the V-Strom 800DE, high quality suspension is still provided by Showa, but with a focus on delivering superior on-road performance. 150mm of travel at the front and rear comes courtesy of preload-adjustable inverted front forks and a link-type monoshock adjustable for preload and rebound damping, delivering sure-footed roadholding and a plush ride for long days in the saddle. Stopping power comes from radially-mounted four piston Nissin calipers.

Further underlying the V-Strom 800REs prowess as the tool to explore all roads it comes with a seat height of 825mm, while aluminium, rubber-covered footpegs are set 14mm further rearward and 7mm higher than the V-Strom 800DE, and aluminium tapered handlebars are 13mm lower and 23mm further forwards. Theyre also 15mm narrower. A taller and wider screen offers more weather and wind protection on longer rides.

Nestled underneath the screen is a 5 colour TFT screen with dual display modes for day and nighttime riding. All the navigation of menus and features is done via a simple, easy-to-use rocker switch on the left-hand handlebar. Theres also a handy USB port located on the left-hand side.

Displayed on the bright, clear screen is all the information required by the rider, including the current setting selected from its three-mode traction control system which can also be switched off and the current power mode selected, from Active (the more sportier and direct throttle map), Basic (ideal for cruising or city riding), and Comfort (perfect for wet or cold conditions). There are also two ABS settings, providing differing levels of intervention.

A ride-by-wire throttle connection provides a natural feel and connection to the rear wheel, while a standard-fit bi-directional quickshifter allied to a slipper clutch makes gear changes slick and seamless. Theres also Suzukis low rpm assist and easy start function.

Sharing a similar DR Big-inspired look as the 800DE, complete with iconic beak and full LED lighting front and rear, the V-Strom 800RE will come in Pearl Vigor Blue, Metallic Matt Steel Green, and Glass Sparkle Black.

There will also be a full suite of genuine accessories available including a choice of three-piece aluminium or plastic luggage, heated grips, and a centre stand.

    <description>

Get ready to ride this summer, with a new offer on all of Suzukis 650 V-twin models that includes a 500 off test ride incentive, a twoyear free service plan, plus low-rate, 4.9% APR finance available on PCP or HP for up to four years with no deposit required.

The offer, which runs until 30 June 2023, covers the SV650 the bike that defined the middleweight twins category plus its caf racer-styled SV650X stablemate and the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 650XT adventure machines.

All four models use Suzukis iconic, tried and trusted 645cc V-twin powerplant that boasts a quarter of a century of development and delivers incredibly smooth, linear power in both the SV and V-Strom models, with strong acceleration from the very bottom of the rev range and a stirring soundtrack. Reworked and redesigned over the years, in the very latest SV650 it produces 73PS and 64Nm of torque, all while meeting the latest Euro5 emissions regulations.

With 500 off, the SV650 comes with an RRP of 6,499, and even with no deposit, on a four-year PCP deal it can be ridden for 91.70 per month. The V-Strom 650XT, with its spoked wheels, handguards, traction control, low RPM assist, and easy-start system, can be had for just 101.96 per month as part of a four-year PCP deal, with just a 500 deposit.

Jonathan Martin, Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, said, Our 650 V-twin is a motorcycling stalwart and represents one of the most-loved, and most-purchased engines in motorcycling. It has powered, and continues to power, models that combine an engaging riding experience with exceptional value. We are now adding even more value by offering money off, low-rate finance with no deposit required and a twoyear free service plan which includes parts and labour.

The two years free servicing includes the initial 600-mile first service, the first annual or 7,500-mile service, and the second annual or 15,000-mile service*.

And with two years free servicing, customers can continue to save, making it even easier to own a legend. The two years free servicing includes the initial 600mile first service, plus the first annual or 7,500-mile service and the second annual or 15,000mile service*.

The latest iteration of the iconic hypersport machine is still unmistakably Hayabusa, with a silhouette that pays homage to the original while adding new angles and accents that present a thoroughly modern, classy look. Class extends to the clocks, too, with two big analogue dials also nodding to the original, while flanking a colour TFT dash displaying a plethora of information.

The electronics package enhances the performance from the proven motor. Still nothing comes close to a Hayabusa powerplant, with its turbine-like power delivery, which is housed in a twin-spar aluminium frame, while fully adjustable KYB forks, Brembo Stylema calipers, and specially designed Bridgestone tyres deliver a sporty-yet-plush ride.

Find out more about the Hayabusa here.

    <title>Suzuki launches Service Activated Warranty</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-launches-service-activated-warranty</link>
    <description>
        Suzuki has launched a new Service Activated Warranty, which extends a motorcycles warranty period after the initial three years through regular servicing at authorised Suzuki dealerships.

The Service Activated Warranty is offered once the motorcycle reaches the end of its manufacturer warranty period of three years, and is booked in for its next scheduled service within the Suzuki Dealer network. This warranty then stays in place until the next qualifying service. It is then simply renewed again, up to a maximum vehicle age of seven years or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The Service Activated Warranty is offered to customers completely free of charge.

All major components are covered, and should the machine be sold between services and within the seven-year qualifying period, the warranty will simply be transferred to the new owner.

The Service Activity Warranty can also be enjoyed by owners of secondhand machines, even if any original warranty has expired and if there is a gap in the service history. Providing the new owner has their motorcycle serviced at a Suzuki dealership and goes through a Suzuki Motorcycle Health Check in the first instance, it will benefit from a fresh, one-year warranty.

For these customers, the Service Activated Warranty will begin 30 days from the date the authorised Suzuki Dealer service has been completed.

Denis Houston, Director Aftersales at Suzuki GB, said, At Suzuki, customer experience and retention are paramount, the launch of Service Activated Warranty will certainly enhance this for the future, ensuring our customers get the best levels of service, fitment of genuine parts and avail of the expertise within our dealer network rather than going to a non-franchised repairer once their manufacturer warranty expires. Offering Service Activated Warranty is free of charge to owners, is unique, and we are very proud to offer this as a strong message in support of our customers.

    <title>Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 - Bike revealed!</title>
    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/royal-enfield-super-meteor-650-bike-revealed%21</link>
    <description>A year ago, Royal Enfield unwrapped the SG650 concept bobber to demonstrate how its air-cooled parallel twin could find a home in a cruiser-style machine and now the same idea is to reach showrooms in the form of the Super Meteor 650.

Developed in the UK at the firms technical centre at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire, under the eye of design chief Mark Wells, the Super Meteor continues to show the burgeoning confidence that Royal Enfield has as it explores a market where it faces few direct rivals. Wells said: Our goal was to create a motorcycle that captures the very essence of British cruisers. The design language is influenced by styles of the 1950s, including our own motorcycles, but with a contemporary twist. The Super Meteor 650 is a carefree motorcycle for riding until you decide its time to stop, for crossing immense, immersive landscapes, for heading towards the horizon&#039;s vanishing point

Siddhartha Lal, MD of REs parent company, Eicher Motors, adds: Inspired by some great cruisers weve built through our history, and by actual riders, the Super Meteor is distinctly Royal Enfield and every bit a thoroughbred cruiser in form, factor and design. It is an absolutely stylish, refined and enjoyable motorcycle that is intended to make cruising pleasurable and accessible even for riders who never really considered cruisers before. And Royal Enfield CEO, B Govindarajan, said: Even at the start of the development journey of the 650 parallel twin platform we were clear about our intentions of designing and building a true-blue highway cruiser. Its been a while in the making but we are very glad that it is finally here. The 650 twin engine has been at the heart of the resounding global success of the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650 and we are confident that this platform, in a new cruiser avatar, will create new audiences for Royal Enfield across the world.

While the Super Meteors price has yet to be announced at the time of writing, the companys reputation is for affordable bikes and this is unlikely to be an exception.

The Continental GT that shares the same 650 twin starts at 6239 while the Interceptor 650 is 6199, so thats likely to be the ballpark that the Super Meteor is playing in a couple of grand less than the most affordable of Triumphs twin-cylinder modern classic machines.

Enfield is offering two versions of the bike, the standard Super Meteor 650 and the Super Meteor 650 Tourer. The former comes in five colours black, blue, green and two-tone grey/black and green/black while the Tourer, with a screen, a deeper seat and pillion backrest, is offered in blue/white with gold pinstriping or red/white.

The engine is the same oil/air-cooled, 648cc parallel twin used in the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650, making an A2-licence-friendly 47hp (34.6kW) at 7250rpm and 38.6lb-ft (52.3Nm) of torque at 5650rpm. Its an old-school design, with a single overhead camshaft and prominent cooling fins, but far from being a criticism thats a bonus for the Super Meteor. The performance is already at the limit for A2 class riders, so more complexity would provide no benefit, and the engines retro construction means it fits the bikes look perfectly without needing to find space for a radiator.

It&#039;s not all old, though. Like every other major manufacturer, Royal Enfield needs to hit Euro 5 emissions limits that have already pushed many rivals out of the air-cooled arena. It achieves that target with modest performance goals and the use of electronic fuel injection. There are also four valves per cylinder despite the single overhead camshaft, and the engine drives through a six-speed transmission something thats actually surprisingly new tech for Royal Enfield, which was still using four-speed boxes well into the current century.

The Super Meteor doesnt try to be too clever with its chassis, which like several of the firms current models was developed by Harris Performance in the UK. Rather than carrying over the frame used for the Continental and Interceptor, the Super Meteor has a new design with a more low-slung look and weight distribution. Theres a central spine under the fuel tank, with two hoops at the back to provide upper mounts for the rear shocks and a substantial strut hanging down from the headstock to the front engine mount, splitting into dual cradle sections running under the engine.

The suspension includes 43mm USD forks with 120mm of travel and twin rear shocks, each with preload adjustment and 101mm of movement.

Unsurprisingly, its no flyweight, coming in at 241kg with its 15.7 litre fuel tank filled to 90% capacity.

With a low, low 740mm seat height, the Super Meteor isnt going to penalise the short-of-leg, but the extreme forward-mounted footpegs and controls are very much in the cruiser mould and wont suite everyones taste. For long rides at modest speed, the layout should be comfy, though.

While the base model does have a pillion pad, its really aimed at one-up riding, and those planning to go longer distances or carry passengers will be looking at the Tourer model with a deeper, wider, full length seat, a pillion backrest and a screen.

On board, equipment levels arent extravagant but theres the same part-analogue, part-digital display that current RE riders will be familiar with, combining a conventional speedo around the edge with an LCD centre section including a trip computer, fuel gauge, gear position and clock. On the right, a second pod features the Tripper turn-by-turn navigation system thats also featured on other Enfield models.

Royal Enfield hasnt made economy claims but with the same engine as the Interceptor and Continental GT, the Super Meteor is likely to achieve similar consumption figures to those bikes, which both manage well over 60mpg.

    <link>https://www.biketreads.co.uk/news/suzuki-releases-new-colours-for-v-strom-650-range</link>
    <description>Suzuki has released new colour options for its ever-popular V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 650XT middleweight adventure machines.

The base model V-Strom 650 will continue to be available in the pearl brilliant white with its blue graphic on the beak, and for 2022 will be joined by a reversed option, which sees pearl vigour blue bodywork offset by white decals. A glass sparkle black scheme, with its black cast aluminium wheels, provides an understate all-black option, topped with a striking yellow beak graphic.

Suzukis trademark yellow synonymous with its off-road racing heritage will remain available on the V-Strom 650XT, with RM-Z-inspired blue and grey graphics on the beak and tank. The look is completed with gold spoked rims.

The same gold rims feature on a white variant of the XT, while a classy, new-for-2022 blue paint scheme and an all-black with blue and grey graphics get treated to blue rims.

Both versions of the V-Strom 650 use the proven 645cc V-twin engine, packed with character and a broad spread of power and get traction control, Suzukis easy start system and low RPM assist.

The XT swaps cast aluminium wheels for lightweight spoked alternatives, and adds hand guards and a lower cowling as standard.
